Hola – My name is Maria “Lupe” Baughman. I have been a Counselor at MSHS for 4 years. I studied at Angelo State University. I got my bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish. I continued studying I and got my Mid-Management Degree, (Principal Degree), and School Counseling Degrees. I was an AP for 1 year and made the decision to pursue Counselling as my Career. I’ve worked as an English teacher, Spanish Teacher, AP, and for the last 18 years, as a School Counselor, where I absolutely love helping students decide on their next step after High School.
I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. My oldest daughter is a Librarian in Dallas and my younger daughter is an Attorney for the University of Texas at Austin; and my 1 granddaughter just graduated from UNT in North Texas. We are a proud family with 3 generations of College Graduates. I’m here to help you and I speak Spanish.

Linda Hughes - Counselor - Alpha P-Z
Linda Hughes has spent 32 years in education. Her educational experience includes working for Region XIII, ESC in Austin. Within this line of work, she provided assistance to over 25 districts and 10 charter schools within the region. In addition, she worked with TEA providing statewide assistance to leadership and counseling teams for underperforming schools throughout Texas. Directly, Mrs. Hughes served as a guidance counselor for Plano ISD, Lewisville ISD, Georgetown ISD, Round Rock ISD, and Hutto ISD.
Linda Hughes earned her Master’s Degree in Guidance & Counseling and a Certification in Special Education Counseling in 1997 from Texas A&M in Commerce and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a minor in Special Education in 1990 from Angelo State University. She holds teaching certificates for Elementary Education, Special Education (K-12), and is a Certified Driver’s Education Specialist.
She has had the honor of serving on several State Advisory Boards; Texas Counseling Association, Governor’s Labor Special Committee, CTE of Texas (creating pathways), COAC (working with families who have adopted children) and a few others.
Mrs. Hughes has been happily married to Jeff Hughes for over 24 years, and together they have three children who are now adults!! Linda and Jeff enjoy traveling, playing family board games/cards, and spending a lot of time with family members.
